RESPECT FAN CULTURE – INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EURO 2016

On 3 and 4 March 2016, FSE and the Fédération Française de Football (F.F.F.) are hosting a conference on Fans’ Embassies at EURO 2016 in Paris. We want to give stakeholders the opportunity to discuss the implementation of Fans’ Embassies during the tournament and their role in the wider fan hosting concept to contribute to a festive atmosphere at EURO2016 and to reducing tensions ahead of the event.

Bringing together Fans’ Embassy initiatives, UEFA, EURO 2016 SAS, Host Cities, Football Associations, fan experts and other major stakeholders, the conference will be hosted by the F.F.F. at the Hotel Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel (3 March) and the F.F.F. headquarters (4 March), making it the first fan-related conference of this kind ever organized in France.

Coordinated by Football Supporters Europe (FSE) as one of UEFA’s official Social Responsibility Projects, in association with all major stakeholders of the

competition, RESPECT FAN CULTURE – Fans’ Embassies at EURO 2016 aims at providing expertise and experience to Host Cities & organisers in France in close cooperation with UEFA, while preparing the implementation of Fans’ Embassy services during UEFA EURO 2016 at the heart of every Host City. EURO 2016 SAS and Host Cities will also have the opportunity to introduce fan representatives to the operations and regulations implemented for the competition, giving fans and organisers the chance to establish a dialogue that will benefit every fan travelling to France in Summer 2016.

Fans’ Embassy is the name that has been given to an advice, information and support service for football supporters travelling to international tournaments or away games in foreign countries, provided by fans and for fans. For more than 20 years Fans’ Embassy initiatives have contributed to festive atmospheres and reduced tensions and violence at major tournaments. Developed by supporters, the concept today is recognized as best practice policy in the area of safety & prevention at European level. For further information visit the Fans’ Embassies website!

We are happy to welcome representatives of national team fans organisations and stakeholders from the participating countries as well as representatives of their governing bodies at the event. Conference languages are English and French. For fan representatives who have been organising or are intending to organise Fans Embassy services, financial support for travel arrangements may be provided upon request.
